The goal of the Waukee School-to-Work program is to provide a strong academic program with opportunities for career exploration and a focus on a post-secondary education where needed. School-to-Work helps develop life skill competencies.
There are three core elements in Waukee’s School-to-Work focus:
- School-based learning—a strong academic program with choices of a career focus with opportunities for post-secondary work.
- Career knowledge and job seeking and job keeping skills— Awareness, Investigation, Exploration, Preparation
- Work-based learning—work experience, structured training and mentoring at the job site.
