Bricks 4 Kidz Summer Camps

What: Bricks 4 Kidz offers project-based programs designed to teach principles and methods of engineering and architecture, as well as concepts across a variety of subject areas including math, science and history using LEGO bricks. The activities are designed to trigger a child’s lively imaginations, encourage problem solving and enable children to learn not only by listening and observing, but also by using their fine motor skills and spatial intelligence. Our summer camps are a great mix of technic model building, creative basic brick building and other engaging challenges and projects. Best for students in grades K-6.

Middle School Computer Skills

What: Do you want your early secondary student to thrive using technology in their daily education? These separate, one week classes, will teach students how to use Google Suite, use online resources for research, and protect themselves online. Keyboarding will also be stressed in each class. These classes will help students feel more confident and ready to tackle the projects they will complete while in grades 6-7 and beyond. The classes can be taken independently of each other or all together. Students will need their district google account information with them for each class. For students entering grades 6-7. Instructors: Waukee Middle School Teachers, Mark Anderson and Cass Zorn.

Spanish Immersion Sports Camps

What: The Language Project coaches will not only teach your child Spanish but also how to use it in our mini-olympics in one of the best weeks of the summer! Immersion Sports is a Spanish language learning camp, that will teach your child Spanish while also adding in FUN new vocabulary, games, crafts, culture and excitement about another language and country. This full immersion camp is a home run every time.

STEM Makers

What: STEM Makers allows students the opportunity to experiment with different types of materials and tools in an environment that is based on their individual interests. Students will learn robotics and programming, fuse plastics, play with OSMO’s, make creations using a 3D pen, and so much more! Your child will spend the week thinking like an engineer! Students will understand and complete the engineering design process, learn how to use STEM tools safely, solve problems using different tools, and design and build a makerspace project of their choice. Taught by Grant Ragan Elementary Teachers, Megan Trader and Jessica Hammans. For students entering grades K-5.

Camp Field Day

What: Everybody loves Field Day! Camp Field Day is a safe and fun-filled camp that focuses on encouraging a lifetime of physical activity! Our goal is to not only expose campers to a wide variety of games and activities, but to demonstrate the importance of leadership as well. Campers will be participating in a variety of activities that will include: water target challenges, slip and slide, water balloon competitions, organized team games, water relays and much, much, more!

Chess & Fencing (Spring Sessions)

What: Youth Enrichment League chess lessons are designed to engage beginners through advanced students. Students will have a lesson, practice, and play each class. All equipment is provided and students will receive a cadet booklet to use during and after class. Join this sport of the mind and be a part of your school s chess group. Sign up and create a checkmate today! New and returning students are welcome.

Fencing is one of the fastest growing sports in the USA. Youth Enrichment League fencing is designed to engage beginners through advanced students. Students will receive world class instructor as the curriculum is designed by a former olympic fencer. Students will get a physical workout while learning honor, manners, and respect in the sport of fencing. Safety is a priority and all equipment is provided. Get in the game!

Bricks 4 Kidz – Kidz Night Out

What: Bricks 4 Kidz Night Out is an evening of creative FUN sure to please kids and their parents! Three hours of LEGO activities including loads of free play LEGOS for creative projects and challenges, our signature motorized technic model building, 3D Model building, zip line races, CHIMA Speedorz and Ramps, LEGO movies, crafts and much more. Bring them hungry. We will have pizza and snacks. With a variety of stations and activities, our event is great for LEGO fans 4 to 12 year old, so leave them with us and enjoy a night out for dinner and movie or shopping! You ll feel great knowing your kids are in a safe, enriching environment and the kids will be happy to have an evening of FUN dedicated to them!

Great Beginnings for Families

What: Join us for a fun, informative series of workshops for parents/caregivers of infants – kindergartners that will provide the skills and understanding necessary to raise healthy young children. We will explore the key principles of child development, positive discipline and guidance, helping children cope with anger and conflict, encouraging learning through play, along with building strong families and temperament. Cost is per family, and childcare will be provided.

We aren’t talking paper and pencil crafts – you’ll learn chalkboard art (and take home your own chalkboard masterpiece), canvas design, create your own personal framed glitter initial, design an arrow/felt flower wooden plaque and a unique quote with stick frame.
